Eino Okkenen was the founder of Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball and instrumental in setting up the Roller Hawks National League team in 2001, the first regional team in the national basketball league.
Eino has represented Australia at the Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled (FESPIC) and won three National Wheelchair Basketball League Championships with the Wollongong Roller Hawks in 2003, 2011 and 2012.
Eino was honoured with Life Membership by Wheelchair Sports NSW (WSNSW) in recognition of the years of service he has dedicated to wheelchairs sports in the Illawarra.
